To strengthen strategic collaboration between the academic and practical sectors in the formulation and advancement of criminal justice policies and crime prevention research, the Academy for the Judiciary convened its inaugural Crime Prevention Research and Development Advisory Meeting for 2025 on March 31. The meeting was presided over by President Wu Hsun-lung and brought together 14 advisory committee members, comprising directors and deputy directors from key departments and affiliated agencies under the Ministry of Justice, alongside distinguished scholars from academia.

The session served not only as a platform to present the major research accomplishments of 2024—spearheaded by the Academy’s Crime Prevention Research Center—but also as a forum for rigorous discussion on four prospective research proposals. Following deliberation, two topics were selected for commissioning as research projects in 2026:

  1. Assessing the Feasibility of Introducing Corporate Criminal Liability in Taiwan: An In-Depth Study of Foreign Corporate Criminal Procedure Laws.
  2. National Crime Victimization Report, 2025: A Decadal Trend and Victimization Services Survey (2016–2025).

In his opening remarks, President Wu welcomed two newly appointed advisory members: Director Chang Hsiao-wen from the Department of Prosecutorial Affairs and Director Hung Hsin-hsu from the Department of Prevention, Rehabilitation and Protection. The attending members expressed strong support for the Academy's ongoing initiatives in crime prevention research and affirmed the value of its substantial achievements.
