In response to the COVID-19 epidemic outbreak, the National Level 3 Alert has been extended until July 26th and the Academy for the Judiciary, Ministry of Justice is currently implementing the latest preventive measures as follows:

We will continue to implement the policy of rostering the staff between the Academy, the Second Office and the sub-home office while expanding their flexible working hours as well as synchronizing with the policy of school closure at various levels until June 28th. Considering the risks of infection caused by the movement of people, and under the "working from home principles" as prompted by the Directorate-General of Personnel Administration, Executive Yuan, each unit will arrange a list of working from home employees' roster and implement working from home for some colleagues. All meetings will be postponed or switched to video conferencing or written review to avoid the risk of cluster infection.

To avoid contact between the staff working from the sub-home office and the trainees and colleagues from the Academy, the lunch meals of trainees and colleagues at the Academy's cafeteria are conducted in an "isolation and triage" manner. The Academy's office staff will pick up their meals from the staff cafeteria and bring them back to their respective office seats for lunch; at a different time of the day, office workers of the Second Office will eat at the staff cafeteria, with trainees from different venues, with one table limited to three persons only while there will be a partition to separate them, they will have to wear masks throughout except when having their food, and maintain a social distance of 1.5 meters. The contractor will be required to strengthen the daily cleaning and disinfection of the cafeteria.

During the Level 3 Alert period, all courses at the Academy will be taught remotely and tests will be administered online. Trainees in long-term classes are advised not to stay overnight, and shall there be a need for trainees to stay overnight, one room per trainee will be allocated and they will be required to reduce unnecessary movements outdoors. The Academy will remain alert to the development of the epidemic and will review and revise its existing practices at any time while urging colleagues to take the initiative to actively cooperate with the Central Epidemic Command Center on various epidemic prevention measures.
