Judges Kay Ransome and Andrew Molloy of the International Association of Refugee and Migration Judges, along with the Taiwan Association for Human Rights, visited AJMJ and met with President Li-ling Ker on the morning of July 12th.
Judge Kay Ransome serves at the Civil and Administrative Tribunal of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, where she is responsible for adjudicating civil and administrative relief cases. She is also a member of the Hong Kong Torture Claims Appeal Board and served as the Chief Justice of the Australian Refugee Appeals Tribunal from 2012 to 2015. Judge Andrew Molloy has been serving at the Immigration and Protection Tribunal in New Zealand since 2010, where he handles cases related to refugee protection appeals and appeals against deportation liability. He was also appointed as a Senior Counsel assisting the Royal Commission of Inquiry into Abuse in State Care and Faith-Based Institutions in New Zealand.
President Ker first welcomed the distinguished guests, followed by an introduction by Mentor Lee to the judicial examination and training system in Taiwan, as well as the academy's curriculum on human rights, refugees, and immigration issues. Both parties exchanged valuable experiences on these topics. Following the discussion, the visiting guests, led by President Ker, toured the academy's history corridor, mock courtroom, auditorium, history room, and library, and took a group photo in front of the academy emblem.
Our academy sincerely welcomes visits and exchanges with judicial institutions, judicial personnel, and international organizations from around the world to enhance the quality of judicial education and training in our country and to increase international visibility.
