Professor Helmut Satzger is an expert in European and international criminal law, criminal procedure law, and commercial criminal law. He served as a Visiting Professor at the College of Law of National Taiwan University in March of this year. The Academy for the Judiciary has invited Professor Satzger to teach the 63rd Class of Judicial Officers on the topic of "Climate Criminal Law - The Role of Criminal Law in Climate Crisis", with translation provided by doctoral student Dr. Chih-Yu LIN from the University of Munich.

Professor Satzger started his presentation with the human-caused climate change and outlined a blueprint and international cooperation for future climate change criminal law. He also discussed the criminal liability of recent climate activists in Germany in the name of climate protection. This lecture provided the attending students with a fresh international perspective and, simultaneously, inspired them to think deeply about various issues related to environmental criminal law.
