2018/7/24 Crime Prevention Advisory Conference was held

On July 24, 2018, to form a strategic alliance with government officials and academics as well as enhance the precision and feasibility of the nation’s criminal policy, the Academy for the Judiciary held the Crime Prevention Advisory Conference. Hosted by President Tsai Pi-yu, the conference was attended by 18 members, including directors of MOJ departments, chiefs and deputy chiefs of MOJ subordinate organizations and representatives of the academia. In the conference, the Crime Prevention Research Center of the Academy first presented its accomplishments in 2018 and 2 motions regarding the 2019 contract research topics on sentencing and victims database respectively were put forward for discussion. Then, Director Huang Chuntang of Agency of Corrections, Ministry of Justice was invited to give a presentation on topic of “positioning of the Agency of Corrections”. Also, President Tsai awarded the certificate of appreciation to associate professor Wang Boqi and his student of Mingchuan University for creating crime prevention related e-posters and microfilms and providing the Center for free. Attendees highly praised the Center for its research plans and achievements.
