In order to enhance the professional knowledge of prosecutors in their process of investigating military related cases and to assist prosecutors in better understanding special features and disciplines of the military, the Academy held three “Military Practices Workshops” for the continuing education of prosecutors starting this June (2017). The three workshop sessions were held jointly with the Ministry of National Defense’s Northern Region Legal Services Center in northern, eastern, and southern Taiwan, and were conducted in mobile classrooms that drove into the military to further exchange and interact with the troops through seminars. On the first day of the Workshop (June 15), Workshop members visited the 542 Armor Brigade History Museum, the Military Psychology Anti-Stress Building in the Army Northern Region Test Center and the T61 Small Arms Shooting Simulation Building; the next day (June 16), President Tsai of the Academy led the Workshop to visit the Military Police History Museum, the Forensic Science Center, and the Military Police Special Services Company (MPSSC) History Museum. The Workshop also observed the MPSSC’s pistol and submachine gun shooting demonstrations, and also watched their group tactical exercise demonstration. Finally, under instruction of the MPSSC coach, participating Workshop members also fired actual shots to get first-hand experience Through seminars and on-site visits, the Workshop gave prosecutors further insight to the military force, and thus enhanced the professional expertise of prosecutors in future investigation of military related cases.
