2017/03/09&10 Continuing Education for Prosecutors – “Aviation Safety and Accident Investigation” – Was Held

To strengthen the professional knowledge and competence and to nurture the interdisciplinary accomplishments of prosecutors in investigating aviation safety-related cases, the “Aviation Safety and Accident Investigation” seminar was held by the Academy on March 9 & 10, 2017. For the seminar, the managing director of the Aviation Safety Council, Wang Xing-zhong, and the director of the ASC’s Investigation Division, Su Shui-zao, lectured on “Flight Safety Administration and Supervision”, “Accident Investigation Methods and Procedures”, and “Examples of Accident Investigations”. Moreover, attending prosecutors visited the related facilities of the ASC, including investigation labs for materials storage, animation work, and the deciphering of the cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder, and observed the related operating procedures in the investigation of aviation accidents. They also toured the CAL Park in Taoyuan to see the emergency equipment for land and water escapes and the Airbus and Boeing flight simulators of the flight operations division and the A350 and A330-300 cabin mock-ups of the cabin crew division. Additionally, attending prosecutors visited the China Airlines Museum to look at exhibits of the company’s past and present to enhance their understanding of the procedures for aviation accident investigation, the pre-employment education and training of a civil aviation organization and other related affairs, increasing their professional knowledge and competence in their future investigation of related cases.
