“The Workshop on Leadership of Chief Prosecutors” was held from August 17 to 19, 2020 (3 days)

To enhance the ability of the Public Prosecutors Office Chiefs in policy formulation, organizational management, leadership and staffing skills, communication and coordination, as well as their understanding of key national policy developments, the Academic for the Judiciary has planned the holding of a "Leadership Workshop for Chief Prosecutors” from August 17th to 19th, 2020. A total of 28 Chief Prosecutors of the first and second instances participated in this workshop course, and Prosecutor General CHIANG, HUI-MING of the Supreme Prosecutors Office was also involved in the whole course. The course lasted for three days and included speeches by Prosecutor-General CHIANG, HUI-MING and Chief Prosecutor HSING, TAI-CHAO, as well as arrangements for a total of 8 lectures by the Minister TSAI, CHING-HSIANG, Ministry of Justice, the President of the Judicial Yuan, HSU, TZONG-LI, the Minister without Portfolio, Executive Yuan, Audrey TANG, Taipei City Councilor (Froggy) CHIU, WEI-CHIEH, CHIEN, LI-FENG, ex-General Manager of GOOGLE Taiwan, CHOU, WEN-TSONG, Researcher at the Institutum Iurisprudentiae, Academia Sinica, HU, MENG-CHING, Distinguished Professor, Department of Adult and Continuing Education, National Chung Cheng University and Dr. YEH, KUO-HSIN, Founder of the Mo Hai Lou International Art Research Group respectively. They shared their experiences and discussed with the Chief Prosecutors on key issues of judicial administrative enforcement focus, judicial reform and judicial policies, digital policy and national development, communication of new media, change management in the digital era, digital development and human rights, career planning in an aging society, and authenticating works of art and transaction practices.

The program arranged for the afternoon of Day 2 of the course included a site visit, with the President of AJMJ, TSAI, PI-YU leading the study team to LINE TAIWAN. Justice Minister TSAI also participated in the event. During the visit, the colleagues of LINE TAIWAN thoroughly shared the company's business philosophy, management model and introduced the new type of tech company’s software and hardware equipment that differs from conventional industries company with the Chief Prosecutors. After the visit, Ms. Crystal HSU, Director of Corporate Affairs, led a group of related supervisors to share their experiences and gave a brief presentation on LINE's global and local operations, the development of technology applications in the post-pandemic era and LINE's fact-checker mechanism and public affairs partners together with an overall explanation of LINE's information security. Through this visit, the Chief Prosecutors were able to gain a deeper understanding of network technology, social media operations, management, and related business content, as well as have a full exchange of ideas in the above.

During the planning of the course, in addition to focusing on digital technology trends and national digital and judicial policy issues, a career planning course for an aging society was also designed so that the Chief Prosecutors could be prepared to respond to future life planning and social trends. It was arranged for Councilor CHIU, WEI-CHIEH to lecture on the communication of new media so that the Chief Prosecutors can understand the communication and thinking patterns of the new generation. Moreover, the practical course on authenticating works of art and transaction practices taught by Dr. YEH, KUO-HSIN, through the wonderful lecture contents and the practical demonstration of the relevant identification instruments, the Chief Prosecutors also gained a deeper understanding of the new sociocultural patterns of authentication works of art, art money laundering, art deals and other related legal controversies. During the three-day workshop course, the Chief Prosecutors highly appreciated the College’s careful planning of the courses and visit, which were different from the traditional in-service professional training for prosecutors, and expressed their hope that more courses on these issues would be planned in the future, which would be very beneficial to the Chief Prosecutors.
